A&T GROUP opens the first distribution center in Poland in Gdansk Kowale Distribution Centre
AXI IMMO comprehensively advises the international company A&T GROUP on the opening of the company's first medical distribution center in Poland in Gdańsk Kowale Distribution Centre.
International company A&T GROUP has decided to open its first distribution center in Poland. The customs warehouse with the controlled temperature required for medicines and foodstuffs will be located in the logistics park Gdansk Kowale Distribution Centre. The tenant will occupy nearly 4,000 sqm of warehouse and office space, where it will develop a division related to the supply of medicines, medical devices, and dietary supplements to the CEE region. A&T GROUP provides complete logistics services and road, sea, and air transportation for pharmaceutical companies that ship drugs and nutritional supplements to Ukraine. AXI IMMO was responsible for comprehensive consulting services for A&T GROUP.
A&T is a diversified group of companies involved in various industries worldwide, and its competencies are trade, marketing, recruitment, consulting, transportation, and logistics. Since 2011, the company has been developing in the medical device industry as a supplier of many medical products, but not only that, and it also supplies food products, hygiene products, and textiles, as well as provides consulting and recruitment services.
A&T GROUP medical distribution center in Poland
Agata Budek, President of the Board, A&T Group, says: “We were looking for a location close to the Deepwater Container Terminal in Gdansk, and the decision to choose the Gdansk Kowale Distribution Centre was one of the best of the proposed and available options. The relatively short distance from the port provides us with excellent conditions for swift reception of containers and planning logistics immediately after their unloading throughout Poland and other served markets.”
Rafał Jełowicki, Consultant, Industrial & Logistics, AXI IMMO, adds: “The client’s business, which is developing in the Tri-City, will be based on the distribution of various medical materials on the European continent, with a stronger emphasis on its middle-eastern part. Understanding this need and the specificity of the medical industry, we were looking for a module that would be equipped with a temperature-controlled and controlled section, as well as meet high criteria related to isolation.”
A&T GROUP will occupy 3,643 sqm of warehouse space at the logistics center Gdansk Kowale Distribution Centre, which a 341 sqm office module will complement.
Tricity is an important location for reshoring and nearshoring
Katarzyna Głodowska, Consultant, Industrial & Logistics, AXI IMMO, says: “It’s another transaction that shows how important the Tri-City remains as a location on the warehousing map of Poland. One of its most important assets and lines of development cannot be overestimated, i.e., servicing customers with access to the Baltic Hub container terminal, DCT Gdansk. Due to this, Tri-City still is particularly competitive with other warehouse markets and remains open to all tenants interested in acquiring space for current and future projects, including reshoring and nearshoring ones.“
Jakub Jastrzębski, Consultant, Industrial & Logistics, AXI IMMO, points out: “The Tri-City warehouse market is characterized by high demand. The constant desire to develop customers who already run business operations in this area contributes to the rapid absorption of available space. To meet the expectations of A&T GROUP, and to consider the well-prospering companies in the medical sector in Poland for years, one of our proposals was to secure additional space for the growth of operations in advance. It is a safe solution that provides the tenant with great flexibility in the event of a lower supply.”
