PGD Sp. z o.o., a distributor of products for bakeries, confectioneries and ice-cream parlours, has decided to develop its business in the West Pomeranian Voivodeship. The tenant has occupied approx. 2,000 sqm. of production and warehouse space with social facilities in the Waimea Airport Logistics Park Szczecin-Goleniów investment.  AXI IMMO, the largest Polish advisory company on the commercial real estate market, was the exclusive agent representing the tenant in the negotiation process and the selection of a new location.  

For more than 25 years, PGD has been offering products and solutions for bakeries, confectioneries and ice-cream parlours, with different needs, from artisanal to industrial production. PGD is present in 10 locations in Poland, and each of its points has its own commercial, warehouse and logistics facilities. In addition, it is worth noting that PGD is part of the Orkla group, one of the largest Scandinavian concerns, which offers over 70 recognised brands, and is an exporter to 35 countries on 5 continents. 

PGD moves to a modern distribution centre

Monika Pęksa, Director of Logistics and Administration at PGD, points out: “After a careful analysis of our company’s needs, we decided to move our logistics activities to a modern distribution centre located only about 13 km from our previous location. The choice fell in the vicinity of the airport in Goleniów, which significantly increases our operational capabilities and optimizes distribution processes. The new distribution centre not only brings the expected savings but also allows us to select additional space and plan further expansion. This is a key step in our growth strategy that will enable us to manage our logistics operations more efficiently and scalably.” 

Wojciech Waryś, Associate Partner, Industrial and Logistics Agency, AXI IMMO, explains: “Certainly, some of the key factors in choosing the West Pomeranian Voivodeship as a location for a logistics and warehouse base are the close border with Germany, access to the airport in Goleniów and convenient location near important transport routes. The road infrastructure in the region, especially the S3 and S6 expressways, guarantee efficient communication to the south and east of Polish. In addition, this location offers growth prospects and access to new markets, which could attract investors interested in expanding into this part of the country.” 

Ultimately, PGD has occupied over 2,000 sqm. of warehouse space, which will be complemented by a 165-meter office. The tenant moved into the new location at the end of April 2024.  

Attractive logistics location Szczecin – Goleniów

Maciej Dziadosz, President of the Management Board and Director of Szczecin-Goleniów Airport, says: “We are very pleased with the planned takeover of the cargo terminal space by another tenant. We hope that along with the already started activities in improving the infrastructure, such as: increasing the ILS category to cat. II with the involvement of the European Commission’s funds from the CEF fund implemented by CINEA and the expansion of the passenger terminal, the Szczecin-Goleniów airport will become an even more attractive airport for further entrepreneurs. Waimea Airport Logistics Park Szczecin-Goleniów is a modern logistics centre with an area of 7,500 sq m. The park is located at the Szczecin-Goleniów Airport and in the immediate vicinity of the railway station. It is perfectly connected with the S6 and S3 expressways and the A6 motorway, it is located 8 km from the centre of Goleniów and approx. 30 km from Szczecin. The park’s offer includes warehouse spaces from 1300 sqm. A large number of parking spaces for cars and trucks makes the logistics centre enable efficient and comprehensive handling of logistics processes.
