SEGRO, a leading owner, asset manager and developer of modern warehousing and light industrial properties entered into cooperation with Colquimica, global producer of industrial adhesives, which will operate in SEGRO Logistics Park Poznań. According to the lease agreement the company will occupy 3 500 sq m of warehouse and production space with an accompanying office and social unit.

Colquimica is global industrial adhesives producer pioneer on the field of synthetic water based glues and hot-melt adhesives in Portugal. Founded over 60 years ago as a family business, nowadays operates in more than 50 countries, including a very important presence in Eastern Europe. Within the SEGRO’s facility being now under construction a wide range of hot-melt adhesives, inter alia personal hygiene, food packing and bottle labels, will be produced. As a matter of fact, the production unit will be fully operational until the end of November.

”While choosing our first location outside Portugal we were considering several elements. Our aim was to increase the quality of the service to our customers in the region and to optimize the logistics process in Poland and neighbouring countries. An advantage of SEGRO Logistics Park Poznań is appropriate infrastructure and perfect location providing for the access to qualified workforce and the extremely good location between Berlin and Moscow,” Our factory is built according the highest standards and it incorporates state of the art equipment, which shall enable a very high degree of automation and productivity. Colquimica Poznan is composed of a mixed team of Polish and Portuguese co-workers. Our staff which was recruited in Poznan has had intensive training in Portugal and is composed of a young and qualified team, with a high degree of technical knowledge. The Portuguese co-workers will bring to the team the necessary experience, accumulated for many years in the factory in Portugal. Our factory is already undergoing the process of certification according to the Quality Standard ISO 9001 and Environmental Standard ISO 14001, with the final audit forecasted for early spring next year. At last we can say that we have plans to further ramp up the production capacity in the middle of 2014,” says João Pedro Koehler CEO Colquimica.

In the building within SEGRO Logistics Park Poznań Colquimica will rent 3 500 sq m, where nearly 2 000 sq is warehouse space, 1 100 sq m of space is dedicated for production and 350 sq m for office and social unit. Technical solutions applied within the facility were individualised according to the specifics of the new tenant’s industry, for instance, the warehouse space was designed including higher standards of fire resistance – 20 000 MJ/sq m. The unit can produce 10 000 tons of material annually.
